Hope United Survivor Network is Gaston County’s Family Justice Center, providing support and resources to survivors of trauma. We serve the community through two locations—one in downtown Gastonia and one at the courthouse—ensuring survivors have access to the help they need when they need it most.
Who We Are
Hope United Survivor Network is a community collaborative. We bring together local agencies, service providers, and community partners to create a coordinated response for survivors of trauma. By working together, we break down barriers, streamline access to support, and ensure survivors and their families receive comprehensive care all in one place.



Available Services
I am in danger and have nowhere to go
I don’t feel safe and I don’t know what to do.
We help you develop an individualized and comprehensive plan to increase safety.
What can I do to make sure they do not come around me or my children?
We can connect with you advocates to file a restraining order/protective order.
I want to work
We can provide information and referrals to community services including employment assistance, applying for public assistance as well as victim compensation.
I would like to talk with a therapist about my experience
We can provide emotional support during your journey as well as provide referrals for individual counseling.
I do not have anyone to watch my children when attending court.
We have staff available to assist with childcare during court proceedings and other meetings within our agency.
I do not have a way to get to court or your agency
We can provide transportation on a case-by-case basis and it must be scheduled in advance.
I have concerns about a child’s safety
If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, please call the 24-hour Child Protective Services Hotline:

We have staff available in the courthouse that can be present for hearings related to your protection order.
I want to join a support group
We offer a support group to provide a safe, confidential space for survivors to come together in their healing journeys.
Did You Know?

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Nearly 1 in 5 women have experienced completed or attempted rape during her lifetime.

Nearly 1 in 38 men have experienced completed or attempted rape during his lifetime.

1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before the age of 18.
